Welcome to Mr. Christiansen's blog!

Dear Parents and Students,

Welcome to the 4th Grade! I want to sincerely welcome you to Yokomi Elementary School. I will be your homeroom teacher, Mr. Christiansen. (If you would like you may call me Mr. C.) I can’t even express how eager I am to work at such a fabulous school with such wonderful children and such a supportive staff!

We have many exciting activities planned this year. We will be studying a wide range of material, from daily hands-on science, to an intense look at California, to challenging mathematics, and a quality language arts program. We will also have some special guest speakers and a couple of exciting field trips throughout the year. My goal is to have my students develop excellent work habits, a sense of responsibility, resourcefulness, good sportsmanship, and above all instill within in them a love for learning!

I feel that a vital part of your child’s success depends on keeping open lines of communication with parents. Please feel free to contact me at any time with any questions or concerns about your child’s progress or behavior. The school’s phone number is 457-6140. I will be sending home progress reports to keep you informed of grades and utilizing the Teleparent system occasionally to inform you of behavior concerns or other important notifications about the class. The way the teleparent system works is it will send you an automated message to your phone number from a window of about 6:00-7:30PM. I will send you all a teleparent message as soon as my class is entered into the system so you can understand how it works.

I’ve included a packet with this letter to give you an overview of my classroom procedures and expectations. Please review its content and sign and return the last page of the packet with you and your child’s signatures. I’m looking forward to a fantastic year!

Sincerely,

Mr. Christiansen
